This unique vessel was hand turned from a piece of English oak which was buried for thousands of years, in a field near Garstang. It was dug up when the farmer was ploughing and despite the cracks Tilly, our woodturner, managed to turn it by hand leaving the natural edge around the top of the bowl. The bowl does not have a foot, not only making it a delightful thing to hold and it sits on just a single point to reveal itself to maximum effect. The colour is completely natural caused by oxidation from the peat and tannic acid in the oak, and have been polished with oils and wax to bring it out to the full. This is a one off piece and therefore cannot be repeated so once it is sold there won’t be another!
